No, it is not an issue for most. Many patients actually report reduced hunger and increased energy.
The B12 injection is Vitamin B12 that helps with your energy level. It is normally involved in the metabolism of every cell of the body including energy production.
Phentermine is an FDA approved appetite suppressant that you can only get by prescription. It is available in our clinic. One pill a day reduces or eliminates hunger, making it possible for most people to lose weight.
Common side effects for patients taking Phentermine include mild insomnia, dry mouth, and constipation. It is important to consume plenty of water while taking Phentermine for weight loss.
Being overweight is linked to so many medical issues, it is clearly an issue to be addressed from a medical perspective. There are numerous medical related causes, and a large list of known medically related effects, both short and long-term.
Better Life Medical Weight Loss™ is a superior option to commercial weight loss diets to help you control weight.
There are several advantages for you to see a the staff at our medical clinic over a non-medically based weight loss diet program.
One of the benefits of being under the care of a medically trained staff working with a phisician supervised program is the possibility of receiving weight loss prescriptions.
Have you ever had difficulty staying on a weight loss program due to hunger or a lack of fullness after eating “normal” sized portions? Do you struggle in maintaining your weight? Hunger control is critical for most people to lose weight. Prescription medication may help. In fact, they can be just the boost you need to make a program successful for you.
Studies have shown that the prescription weight loss medications currently available can improve the outcome of your weight loss efforts, particularly when offered to you combination with a complete weight loss program. And FDA approved prescription weight loss medications have been shown in clinical trials to be safe and effective.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and cash for clinic services.

Yes. Better Life Medical Weight Loss is a physician-supervised medical weight loss clinic. Patients suffering from medical conditions, including diabetes, can be treated but may require their doctor’s permission.
The goal is to help you reach a healthy weight. The benefits are significant, if not life saving.
The best route? Eat healthy food, cut-out unhealthy food (good-by ribs!), do not over consume, and get a lot of exercise. This does not work for most overweight people (over half of the American population). Quick changes usually fail. Anything involving hunger usually fails.
The TV diets are typically expensive and along with the book diets, usually result in the yo-yo weight gain.
The vast majority of over-the-counter (non-prescription) weight loss medications promise you miraculous results, such as melting away your fat cells (or some similar claim), just by ingesting the recommended daily dose. What these advertisers don’t address in their claims are any clinical studies conducted by the manufacturer to evaluate efficacy, safety and side-effect profiles of these products.
There are no FDA regulations that are specific to dietary supplements that establish a minimum standard of practice for their manufacture. The labeling on dietary supplement can’t make a claim to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat or prevent disease such as obesity or they fall under the category of a “drug” which requires the product to undergo the intense scrutiny of the FDA prior to approval for marketing. Currently, any firm that manufactures non-prescription dietary supplements, normally doesn’t have to provide the FDA with the evidence to the safety or effectiveness of the product.
What this means to you is that the possible dangers inherent with any form of self-medication can present serious risks your health.
A prescription weight loss program monitored by the Better Life Medical Weight Lossmedical staff is a direct way to loose weight and maintain a lifetime healthy weight. We help you balance the impact of the prescription against the long term effects of being overweight. In most cases, the benefits are very clear, though in some cases it is not right for the patient.
Better Life Medical Weight Loss clinics are a more suitable setting to provide personalized assistance than other medical facilities. Our practice is focused exclusively on healthy weight management.
Although your Primary Care Physician may be able to prescribe medication to help you lose weight, prescription medication is only one element of a successful weight loss program; and may not be for everyone. Better Life Medical Weight Lossprograms includes individual counseling, educational tools and techniques, and the medical expertise needed to help you reach your healthy weight for a lifetime.
Physicians work in a medical “practice” where they “practice medicine”. Most family phisicians work in a wide area of medicine. As a result, their expenses are higher and there costs are higher when it comes to treating weight issues. More important is the number of patients they see specifically for weight loss on a daily basis. Few if any.
Our clinic focuses only on weight loss. We are more oriented to study, track, and follow-up with weight loss patients. Weight loss is our area of expertise.
We work with and receive referrals from family physicians who understand how we can help their patients. In the same vein, we do not treat other medical issues. For exmple, if we find your thyroid is not functioning properly, we will refer you back to your family physician to have the issue treated before we work with you on reaching a healthy weight.
We have chosen not to have an HCG program for a number of reasons.
HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone naturally produced by the placenta in pregnant women and almost completely controls the metabolic function through the hypothalamus throughout the pregnancy. There are many misconceptions about the HCG diet.
HCG itself has little to do with losing weight while most HCG programs are very expensive. The FDA, the American Medical Association, and numerous legitimate scientific studies have stated it is useless for weight loss. The basic HCG weight loss program includes a 500 calorie per day diet. If you were to cut back to only 500 calories per day without HCG, your weight loss would be the same. The key to the HCG diet is the ultra-low caloric intake, which at 500 calories, is not healthy. At 500 calories, your brain has barely enough energy to function.
Since 1975, the FDA has required labeling and advertising of HCG to state:
“HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.”
In 2013 The Obesity Society (obesity.org) produced a position statement stating that “We conclude that the scientific evidence does not support the use of HCG for the treatment of obesity.” They refer to HCG programs as “An Ineffective Approach to Treating Obesity.”
Their conclusion summed it up:
“Unfortunately, in spite of the clear evidence and the FDA warning, recent popular books and a well known television physician have touted the efficacy of HCG for weight loss, leading to a resurgence of clinics offering this ineffective treatment to obese patients.”
Our programs are reliable and designed to help you reach a healthy weight, without hunger, and without spending a fortune.
You see them on TV all the time. The billion-dollar diet industry tells you what you want to hear. They are focused on sales, not your health. But losing weight on a “diet” is hard work, every minute of every day. How hard are you willing to work? Most quit mid-stream. The main issue is lifestyle and hunger control.
We will help you do it right where the “diets” do not. You’ll reach your goals much quicker than “seven pounds in seven minutes” and be able to maintain your healthy weight.
They impact each individuals weight. Some people can handle large caloric intake and never be overweight. Others tend to hold weight more easily. Managing your weight is the key. For example, being big-boned is no excuse for being 100 pounds overweight. Accept that you have some extra challenges and that you’ll probably never be stick-thin.
Your personal goal should be a healthy weight, which is not the same for everyone of a given height.
Over 60 percent of U.S. adult women are overweight, according to 2007 estimates from the National Center for Health Statistics of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Just over one-third of overweight adult women are obese.
Colorado, ranked as the lease overweight state in the country by the Center for Disease Control. Nearly 40% of our neighbors (women, men, & children) are overweight with half of those obese.
A blood test helps us look at your health picture. Sometimes weight gain is caused or affected by other medical issues. As an example, an under performing thyroid (becoming more common) will slow your metabolism and cause low energy and weight gain. Medical issues like these need to be addressed before we can effectively help with weight loss.
We check your cholesterol, sugar, complete blood count , and thyroid (CMP 14+LP+TSH+CBC With Differential/Platelet).
No. Many of us grew up getting “shots”. The medical term is “injection”.
